Why choose a steering wheel zero-turn

Cub Cadet’s® zero-turn mowers offer performance, cut quality, and comfort. And with our patented Synchro-Steer® technology, our equipment can help bring even more benefits to your -yard or business

Synchro-Steer replaces traditional lap bars with a familiar steering wheel and dual foot pedal control scheme. The result is more stability, added maneuverability, and a machine that’s easier to use leading to greater efficiencies and comfort. Here’s why you should consider a zero-turn model with Synchro-Steer.

Tighter turns

Synchro-Steer enabled zero turns allow you to control all four wheels utilizing a simple and familiar steering wheel control system, giving you the ability to make a single tight radius turn instead of a traditional 3 point or Y turn used with lap bar zero turns. Faster turns translate into faster mowing.

Easier on turf

Limiting turf damage is a high priority, and Synchro-Steer includes built in turf protection. The rear wheels counterrotate when making a zero-turn, which prevents turfing and reduces turf damage while making turns.

Advantage on slopes

Slopes are not easy to mow, and traditional zero-turn mowers are not very stable on hills. But using a Synchro-Steer equipped zero turn provides a significant advantage when faced with difficult grades. A traditional zero-turn has passive castors in the front that tend to drift downhill when mowing slopes. Synchro-Steer holds your line, allowing you to mow slopes up to 46% of grade with our PRO Z 972 SD and SDL models.

Great for novices

Just about everyone knows how to operate a steering wheel. Using a zero-turn with Synchro-Steer lowers the learning curve, injects confidence and improves efficiency for inexperienced operators as straight line mowing and reduced overlap become easier.
