To avoid skewing when setting the height of the indicator platform (the height of the part of the tooth to be spread), the platform is moved with just one screw.

To ensure the bending of the part of the tooth to be set along the broken mowing line, and not along the radius, as on conventional adjustable machines, the working area of ​​the fixed base plate has a replaceable hardened insert.

In order to avoid the formation of a working (pit) and invariability of the indicator readings, a hardened indicator tip is installed at any point of contact, which has a polished (with a thickness difference over the entire surface of 0.01 mm), and not a chiseled (with a 0.1 mm difference) end.

To prevent the saw teeth from cutting the indicator tip during movement, 2 bump balls are installed in the fixed base plate.

To ensure a constant pushing point, the pusher is made in the form of a truncated cone with a rotating bearing ball at the end.

The pusher does not move straight, but along a radius. This significantly reduces breaking stresses, which allows even highly hardened teeth to be set without breaking off the tips. But at the same time, one must always remember that divorce must be carried out not with one strong, but with 2-3 weak movements.

To prevent teeth from breaking (especially hardened ones) during a divorce with too much effort, a force limiter is provided in the machine.

The setting of the saw teeth, despite the apparent simplicity, turns out to be the most difficult process, because after the end of the divorce, its accuracy cannot be checked by the appearance of the saw, and the quality of the surface of the lumber mainly depends on how accurately it is made.

In conventional adjustable lathes, the swing effect is almost always present, when, when the pusher presses on the tooth, instead of bending the tooth, the saw body begins to bend and, accordingly, even with the same indicator readings, the true tooth divorce remains unknown. When pressed again, the difference usually reaches 10 or more units. Therefore, even a freshly cut saw can immediately start to excite.

For clarity, you can take a new hacksaw on a tree and saw off from the edge a part of the sawlog trunk with a diameter of 10-20 cm.Then take the pliers and at least 5-10 saw teeth slightly bend in different directions. Saw off a part of the trunk again and, as they say, feel the difference!
