Be sure to pay attention to the plaque of the candle. If it is black, the candle is smoked, then the mixture is rich, or you have mixed the fuel incorrectly. To check the manual accelerator control system, you need to set the lever to a position where the engine speed will correspond to that required for mowing, then mark its position with a marker and, after waiting for them to decrease, compare the position of the lever relative to the mark.
If the lever matches the mark, then the problem is much more serious and you need to contact the service, if the lever has moved, then you need to replace it.
Some inexpensive Chinese devices are supplied with a factory defect, including an incompletely assembled air damper actuator or its incorrect adjustment.

This will protect the inside of the braid and the core from moisture, which will help the cable last much longer. If this does not help, then it is necessary to adjust the actuator as described in the operating instructions.
Motor stalls randomly

- dirty air filter;
- dirty fuel filter (only for models with a fuel filter);
- faulty ignition switch (does not fully open the ignition circuit);
- damaged insulation of the ignition cut-off wires;
- faulty air damper drive;
- the tightness of the ignition coil is broken or its winding is broken.
The initial inspection is carried out in the same way as described in the previous section. If everything is outwardly normal, then they carefully inspect and feel all the wires suitable for the switch that blocks the operation of the ignition system, perhaps the insulation is damaged somewhere and, upon contact with the bare metal of the case, a short circuit occurs, extinguishing the spark.
If the insulation of all wires is not damaged, then the wires are disconnected from the switch and the engine is checked. normal operation without spontaneous shutdown indicates that the switch must be replaced, if the problem persists, then the search for its causes continues.
For further verification, the air is washed and the fuel filters are changed, and the operation of the air damper drive is checked. when it is closed, its speed should fall, and the sound of the engine should also change greatly.
If all these actions did not help to find the cause of the problem, then its source is dirt in the carburetor or injection system, this happens when working on poor gasoline.
To cope with such a problem at home, you need special equipment and the skill of repairing fuel systems. If you do not have such equipment and skills, it is better to contact a specialized workshop.
The mower emits a lot
The reason why the mower smokes may be due to the following:
- gasoline prepared for two-stroke engines was poured into the fuel tank, or it was stored in an oil container;
- the air damper position regulator is faulty or is in the “Off” position;
- too high oil level;
- the mower, filled with oil, was stored vertically.
To check the gasoline, it is drained, then obviously clean fuel is poured, corresponding to the octane number, after which the engine is started and the grass begins to mow. If after 5-10 minutes the gasoline lawnmower has not stopped smoking, then the problem is something else.

If the air damper drive is in good working order and its lever is in the “On” position, then it is necessary to check the oil level, if it is above the “MAX” mark on the dipstick, then the excess oil has pushed through the oil seals and now the grease enters the engine.
In this case, it is not enough just to pump out the excess oil, because the oil seals are already pressed, which means that the mower will begin to actively consume oil, which, burning in the engine, forms dark smoke.
