To check the cutter bar, remove it from the bar and inspect the plane of contact with the guide bar. if the cutting teeth are really worn, it is necessary to replace the chain without trying to sharpen it.

The main reason for accelerated chain wear can be irregular lubrication of the saw chain. If it runs intermittently, the chain will lubricate in parts. This causes the teeth that are not supplied with oil to heat up more quickly and wear out.

  • The spark plug has a black sludge on it. Basic carburetor adjustment

Slowly turn the maximum and minimum adjusting screws (H and L) clockwise as far as they will go and then a turn and a half in the opposite direction.

Start by warming up the engine for 5 to 10 minutes (not at high rpm).

Adjusting the idle speed

Now turn the idle speed control knob (T, LA, S) counterclockwise to set the minimum rpm at which the engine is stable. The chain should not move at all. If the engine stops when idling, turn the idle speed screw clockwise accordingly. If the chain moves, turn the screw counterclockwise.

Checking acceleration

Set the maximum rpm

As mentioned above, the maximum RPM is adjusted with the H screw, the RPM increases when it is turned clockwise, decreases when it is turned counterclockwise.

The highest rpm for gasoline chainsaw engines is 11,500 to 15,000 rpm depending on the model. A higher speed is dangerous for the engine, which will not allow it to start. Maximum RPM can be determined by the ignition intermittency. If it does, turn the H screw counterclockwise.

Check the chain saw again when idling
