The homemade tiller is made with the Vyatka motor scooter engine according to the traditional scheme: an engine, a two-wheeled chassis and a frame. You can also attach a mower, a plow, a harrow and a trolley to it. For the manufacture of tiller were used units and components from the scooter “Vyatka”: wheels, steering wheel, engine, frame, electrical equipment and seat. The wheels were removed from the cultivator, and the snotty tank was taken from the YuMZ-6 tractor.

The tiller is equipped with a mechanical, gear-chain transmission. It consists of a chain, two bevel gears and a pair of stars.
To install the differential in the transmission did not, because it would require to introduce a wheel locking mechanism. This would complicate the design and make it difficult to maneuver on small plots of land. Therefore, the design provides for the use of two overrunning clutches that allow the drive wheels to slip.

The frame is used as a tiller power unit. At its base, a cross member is installed (we use a corner of 75×40 cm), and two holes with a diameter of 14.2 mm and two holes with a diameter of 12.2 mm are drilled. On the inner side of the frame, two M12 bolts are embedded in the last two holes. This allows you to attach the hinge of the cargo truck and attachment of agricultural implements.
On the left side of the cross member a support beam is welded (we use the 67×67 angle), in which a cut is made under the gearbox housing. At the front end of the beam, the support for the parking arm bracket is installed.
On the right side of the cross member a support plate is welded onto which the gearbox is mounted. For the sub-frame we use a slab, dimensions 280x40x8 mm. In the middle of this plate is installed engine mount.
A vertical rod is installed in the front of the slab. The front bracket is welded to it, on which the engine will be mounted. The torque is transmitted by the chain of the drive sprocket from the output shaft. For its manufacturing, an asterisk from the Vyatka motor scooter was taken.

Engine and gearbox homemade tiller.

Engine start is made by kickstarter. Gears are shifted by a lever that is installed on the gearbox sector. The clutch and gas levers are mounted on the control knobs and on the handlebars. To install overrunning clutches, the gear shaft was extended by 170 mm. Driven sprocket installed on the left end of the shaft.
When the shaft rotates, the overrunning clutch causes the driven roller to rotate. When the tiller turns, a wheel that moves in a circle with a large radius rotates faster than the shaft. In this case, the rotation of the leading part of the muft is faster than the slave. Therefore, when you rotate, you can hear quiet clicks, because the rollers skip over the meshed surface. When the wheel speed decreases, the rollers are re-engaged with the cells.
Knobs of a cultivator are used for the hinged device. The twin thrusts were shortened, which were welded to the docking channel. For fastening to the tiller it has longitudinal holes.

At the end of the kronsheyny-holders mounted farm equipment and locking screws. At the top of the channel are attached pipes of control knobs. From the ends they are flattened. To install the steering wheel with clutch levers and gas in the control knobs drilled holes. For the manufacture of the hinge, was used steering shaft scooter.
The shaft was shortened to 460 mm. In the lower part of the shaft, the universal joint forks was welded. Metal plates were welded to the ends of the cross, the length of which is 13.5 cm. Below the plates are mowed and welded to the channel. In order for the trolley to be attached to the tiller frame, longitudinal holes are made in the channel bar. The hinge assembly is lubricated through the oil can.
The frame of the cart is taken as the basis of the cart frame. The corners of 35×35 mm are welded to it below. Free ends are connected in the same area. Here both plugs from the front suspension “Vyatka” are installed. Between themselves, they will connect a half-inch pipe. A U-shaped subframe made of 35×35 corners is welded there. To install the body, two hub sleeves are welded to a half-inch pipe.
For the manufacture of a carcass body framework, use the corners of 20×20 mm, which are sheathed with sheet steel (1.5 mm). The front of the body is welded locking loop transport position. Loops welded to the sides that connect to the hub sleeves.
