To do this, you will need to connect a tachometer to the cylinder of the motor and start turning the appropriate screw until the indicators on the scale of the device and the instructions in the instruction manual coincide. For example, if the manual to the saw specifies that its maximum rpm should be 12500 rpm, then the same number should be indicated on the tachometer scale during adjustment.

To check the chain saw’s operation after the tuning, it is necessary to switch it off and wait until the motor cools down completely. After that you should start the engine and begin to gently squeeze the gas pedal lever. Reasons why a chain saw cuts crookedly?

To check the cutter bar, you must remove it from the bar and inspect the plane of its contact with the guide bar. If the cutting teeth are really worn, then the chain needs to be replaced without trying to sharpen it.

Uneven lubrication of the saw chain can be the main reason for faster wear. If it is working irregularly, the chain will lubricate in parts. As a result, teeth that are not supplied with oil will heat up more quickly and wear out.

How to tune your chainsaw

For the basic adjustment, you need to turn the screws H and L up to the stop and back 1.5 turns. The final adjustment requires the engine to be warmed up for 5 to 10 minutes at a low rpm.

In situations where it is not possible to use the original ones, they can be replaced by car engine oil. Cheap automobile oils such as Autol or diesel versions of lubricant, due to reduced adhesive properties, are unsuitable for long-term use.

Troubleshooting and methods of elimination

No oil supply

If it happened to the inlet, the oil will leak even when the saw is not running. If the output hose has become disconnected, oil will leak when the saw is running. Leaks can occur when the rubber seals stop leaking. The collar may be badly worn, or it may not be installed the right way.
