- The boot is worn or cracked, due to which construction dust penetrating into the cartridge contaminates the lubricant and prevents rotation.
- Retaining ring. Its weakening releases the spring, the balls fall out of the grooves, the drills do not hold.
- Guide cylinder. Wear of internal grooves does not allow for a reliable fixation of the drills.
- Spring. Its wear and tear will reduce amortization.
- Balloons. Reducing their diameter due to wear does not allow holding the drill.
The balls, spring and retaining ring can be replaced with parts of suitable sizes from other mechanisms, or you can try to make it yourself. The anthers and the guide cylinder are not repaired, they will have to be replaced with branded serviceable copies.
As you can imagine, repairing a hammer drill chuck is not such a difficult process. After the expiration of the warranty period for the tool, in the event of a breakdown, the rotary hammer can be repaired on its own without contacting a service center.
