For example, for Neva MB-1 motoblocks, such types of oils as TAD-17I, TAP-15V are suitable. Changing the oil in the engine of the walk-behind tractor

If the manufacturer has not provided a drain hole for used oil, the drain is carried out through the same hole as the bay. To do this, you will have to tilt the uniaxial tractor to one side. Based on these parameters and taking into account the API category (gasoline or diesel single-axle tractor), the most popular oils are 5w30, 5w40 (from the all-weather class), 10w30, 10w40 (anti-corrosion), 15w40, 20w40 (for operation at high temperatures, namely more than 45 ° С), 0w30, 0w40 (for use in winter).
Do I need to add oil to gasoline for a walk-behind tractor?
The fuel for the walk-behind tractor may be clean, or it may be necessary to prepare a fuel mixture. It all depends on the type of engine. For two-stroke engines, gasoline for a walk-behind tractor must be diluted with oil. In this case, the proportions recommended by manufacturers should be strictly observed (often this proportion looks like 1 part of oil to 4 parts of gasoline). Four-stroke engines do not require such a mixture and are fueled with pure gasoline.
It is also important to note that diesel-powered walk-behind tractors do not in any way need such mixtures (all diesel engines are 4-stroke). Otherwise, everything may end in serious damage to the unit.
Changing the oil in the gearbox of the walk-behind tractor
The gearbox in the walk-behind tractor is a very loaded part. it converts and transmits torque from the gears. Therefore, careful and high-quality lubrication of the gearbox can significantly extend the life and quality of its service.
Change the oil in the gearbox in the following sequence:
a single-axle tractor is installed above the inspection pit or on some hill;
first unscrew the plug from the bay hole, which is usually located on the gearbox. Then we substitute the prepared container for used oil under the drain hole, which is located at the bottom;
when all the oil is completely drained, the lower drain hole is carefully closed;
fill the gearbox with oil. Some gearboxes are equipped with a through-bolt level, others have a dipstick on the plug. Focusing on the oil level indicators, pour the required amount, twist the plug in the filler hole.
The first replacement is carried out at the end of the running-in. The second oil change in the gearbox is carried out approximately every 75-200 hours of operation. But it all depends on the model, so the exact timing should always be specified in the manufacturer’s instructions.
Can motor oil be poured into a uniaxial tractor?
It is not worth taking the risk and pouring automotive oils into a uniaxial tractor, since the engines of cars and motoblocks have different principles of lubrication and temperature modes of operation. Also, the engines of motoblocks have other peculiar qualities (design, material from which they are made, degree of forcing, etc.), which may be incompatible with the characteristics of automobile oils.
How to change the oil in the gearbox yourself
Replacing the working fluid is similar to the same process with the motor.
All actions are simple and effortless:
- provide a flat surface for the unit;
- unscrew the top filler cap;
- place a suitable container under the drain hole and slowly unscrew the lid;
- the working fluid will drain itself, wait about 10 minutes;
- screw on the drain cap and open the filler plug by inserting a watering can into it;
- pour about 2 liters of working fluid;
- check the level with a dipstick, it must be higher than 30 cm.

How to check the oil level in the walk-behind tractor
To independently check how much oil is in the walk-behind tractor, namely in the internal combustion engine, you must perform the following steps:
- install the equipment on a flat horizontal surface;

- insert a special probe with markings into the hole;
- pull out the dipstick and see at what mark the oil stain is;
- if the mark is below the minimum, you need to add oil.
In the case when there are no marks on the probe, you can focus on the length of the device itself. The oil stain must reach the middle of the check element. If there is no dipstick, then the working fluid must be poured to the level until it becomes visible from the neck. In order to check how much transmission oil is in the gearbox of the walk-behind tractor, you need to do the following:
- place the unit on a flat surface;
- use a metal rod about 1 meter long;
- insert the resulting dipstick into the filler hole to the end;
- see the level of fat marks on the wire.
If the dipstick is stained more than 30 cm, it means that the working fluid can not be topped up.

- fill in the lubricant to the required level, usually this is almost a full container;
- check with a dipstick or wire how much oil is poured;
- clean the filler hole with a cloth and close it.
If there is no bottom drain, then the lubricant must be removed through the filler hole. Replacement of liquid material will be required after downtime, repair with replacement of spare parts and with increased load on the engine.
