If you’re not sipping beer while a robot mows your lawn, you’re doing it wrong
It’s 10:59 a.m. on a Saturday, and I’m sitting on my back porch with a tall glass of ice water preparing to mow the lawn. Or, rather, I’m preparing to watch my lawn being mowed — not by a gardener, but by a robot mower.
Yup, you read that right: A robot lawn mower, or more specifically, the Husqvarna Automower 315X (2,000). I know what you’re thinking … the sacrifices I must make as a tester of all things Smart home just for you, dear reader.
Promptly at 11 a.m., the Automower, which is resting on its charging pad underneath my deck, whirrs to life and wheels itself out onto the lawn and into the sunny October day. Using the borders installed by the professionals from my local Husqvarna dealership, the device (which I named “Lawnee”) makes its way around the lawn, back and forth in random patterns. Once it gets to the edge of the grass, it dutifully turns itself around and heads a different direction, leaving a zigzag pattern of lines all over my backyard.
I’m preparing to watch my lawn being mowed — not by a gardener, but by a robot mower.
After an hour (the time that I pre-set the mower to run via the app), Lawnee heads back to the charging station and tucks in for the day until its next run tomorrow at 11 a.m.
I look around at my backyard — at the lines running haphazardly over my perfectly cut lawn — and am extremely happy. And for the hundredth time since Lawnee entered my life, I wish I had more lawn, not just so my son has more room to run around, but also because I want to see Lawnee in action for longer than an hour per day.
Alexa, mow my lawn
Forgive me if I sound a bit overly excited about the Automower. It’s just that there’s something very satisfying about coming home every day to a lawn that is the perfect height and needs nothing from me, other than a good edging now and then. Plus, it’s a robot. Mowing my lawn. How cool is that?
Automowers have been a thing in Europe for some time now, and only recently are they becoming more popular in the United States. Earlier this year, Husqvarna made a push into the U.S. market with its Automower line, which features several different Automowers to handle various sizes of lawn. Here, they’ve found some success; from American colleges and Universities to businesses needing to keep their lawns freshly manicured, the upfront investment in an Automower can ultimately save time and lots of manpower.
It’s a robot. Mowing my lawn. How cool is that?
Here’s how the device works: Husqvarna professionals come to your house or business and install underground guide wires around your lawn (you can do this yourself, but it’s recommended you have someone who knows what they’re doing handle it). This isn’t an invasive procedure, and the lines disappear after a week or so. Then they install the charging station, which needs to be plugged in outside for obvious reasons. Then they ask you to download the app and give you a tutorial on how to use the device.
After that, much of the control can be done through the Automower app. From there you can set a daily schedule, look at the mapping data that the robomower has collected, and even track the device were it to be stolen. Speaking of being stolen, the device is password-protected, a very loud alarm will sound, and the device will shut down if it’s picked up and taken away from its designated location. Built-in sensors will help police locate the device quickly, which is useless without the password anyway.
The 315X model comes with headlights in case you want to see where it is during a night mowing job (it has nothing to do with the device actually being able to see where it’s going but looks pretty freaking cool). Amazon Alexa integration was recently added to the 315X, so if you look out the window and think your lawn needs a once-over, you can just say, “Alexa, tell Automower to start,” and the Automower will get right on it — assuming you’ve activated the Alexa Automower skill.
No more bags to empty
Most home automation isn’t really fully automated — there’s usually something you have to do to help the device along. For example, robot vacuums need their dust bins emptied. And even if you can preheat your oven via an app on your phone on the way home from work, you still need to prepare the food to put in it.
With Lawnee, there are no lawn bags to empty. There is no pushing to get the device started. Once installed, it really is truly automated. It works by cutting a millimeter or so of grass every day, leaving it in the grass bed. The device can even run in the rain, although the owner’s manual recommends not cutting the grass if it’s especially wet.
The only thing I’ve ever needed to do with Lawnee in command of my yard is rake leaves or occasionally pick up the plums that drop from my tree. A couple times I’ve forgotten this step, and I’ve been impressed that Lawnee continues right over the plums despite the obstacles (not recommended, unless you like cleaning plums from Automower tires).
This is a serious first-world problem gripe, but I no longer have satisfyingly straight parallel lines in my lawn.
Unlike the typical gas-powered mower, the electric Husqvarna Automower makes almost no noise, other than the almost silent clicking sound the blade makes when it runs over a patch of grass that needs trimming. If I didn’t recognize the sound, I wouldn’t even know something was running in my backyard. I’m sure my neighbors appreciate the peace and quiet just as I do.
There are a few issues I have about life with an Automower, although they’re definitely small, first world problems. The first is the cost of the device. The 315X, which covers up to.4 acres, costs 2,000, and that doesn’t include the cost of professional installation. Other devices with bigger ranges can be much more expensive. Although it should be noted that larger gas-powered mowers can cost that much or more, and still require gas and manpower to operate.
The second gripe — and this is a serious first-world problem gripe — is that I no longer have satisfyingly straight parallel lines in my lawn. I know, I know. But those of you who appreciate such a result from an old school rider or push mower should know that the Automower will never provide those for you. If you’re in the market for an Automower, it’s time to let those lines go.
Overall, though, after having an Automower in my backyard for a month, I’m surprised that more people in the market for a premium gas-powered mower aren’t flocking to the Husqvarna dealership to buy one of these things. They’re fun to watch, take a lot of the work out of yard work, and could be great for homes and businesses with sprawling lawns.
Plus, you can give them a name like “Lawnee” or “Mow-ana.” What more do you need? Maybe a beer while you sit on the porch and watch your lawn being mowed. By a robot.

- Überprüfen Sie Ihren Automower Akku mit dem Batterietest
- Kontrollieren Sie die Stecker an den Schleifenenden der Aussenschleife auf Korrossion.
- Trafoder Ladestationmit dem Niederspannungskabelan die Ladestation anschliessen.
- Die Stecker der Aussenschleife auf die passenden Kontakte an der Ladestation stecken
- Kontrollieren Sie, ob die gruene Kontroll-LED in der Ladestation (Ansicht von vorne) durchgehend leuchtet, dann ist alles in Ordnung, wenn dies nicht der Fall sein sollte, dann gehen Sie bei der Fehlerbehebung wie folgt vor… Automower-Ladestation und Begrenzungskabel kontrollieren
- Kontrollieren Sie die Automower Messer Ihres Rasenroboters
- Kontrollieren Sie die Profile der Antriebsräder
- Kontrollieren Sie den Zustand der Vorderräder
- Rasenroboter am ON/OFF-Schalter einschalten und mit Ihrer PIN freigeben
- Schieben Sie Ihren Maehroboter in die Ladestation
- WICHTIG für alle G2-Modelle (Automower 220AC/230ACX/SolarHybrid/260ACX/265ACX). Uebertragen Sie die PIN von Ihrem Automower auf die Ladestation (Automower in Ladestation stecken – Einstellungen-Sicherheit-PINCode – PIN bestaetigen, bis die Meldung “PIN-Code uebertragen” auf dem Display erscheint), wenn Sie den PIN-Code nicht uebertragen meldet der Maeher spaeter im Maehbetrieb “Kein Schleifensignal”
- WICHTIG für alle G3-Modelle (Automower 105 / 305 / 308 X / 310 / 315 / 320 / 330 X / 420 / 430 X / 440 / 450 X), generieren Sie ein neues Schleifensignal: Automower in Ladestation stecken – Hauptmenü – Sicherheit – (Erweitert) – Neues Schleifensignal, wenn Sie das Schleifensignal nicht neu generieren haben Sie das gleiche Problem: “Kein Schleifensignal”
- Einstellungen im Bedien-Menü kontrollieren
- Stellen Sie Ihren Rasenroboter im Display auf AUTO (AUTO erscheint rechts oben im Display – ist normalerweise schon eingestellt)
- Ihr Automower laedt sich jetzt auf und wird nach dem Ladevorgang seine Arbeit wie gewohnt aufnehmen
- Wenn Sie eine Steuer- u. Kontrollmöglichkeit Ihres Automowers per Handy wünschen, dann ist jetzt die richtige Gelegenheit Ihren Mähroboter mit einem WLAN-Modul oder einem Connect-Modul nachzurüsten. zum WLAN-Modul hier klickenzum Connect-Modul hier klicken
- Sollte es nach der Inbetriebnahme eine Fehlermeldung geben, dann quitieren Sie bitte den Fehler mit OK oder YES – bitte erst anrufen, wenn die Fehlermeldung bleibt
- Ist Ihr Rasen nach einem halben Tag noch nicht komplett gemäht, dann ist dies normal, warten Sie 2 Tage ab, wenn der Rasen immer noch nicht komplett gemäht ist, dann erhöhen Sie die Einsatzzeiten – erst wenn es dann nicht mehr funktioniert lohnt sich ein Anruf bei uns.

Ich habe den Automower430x in Betrieb seit 4 Wochen läuft dieser ohne Probleme. Allerdings fliegt mir alle 3-4 Tage der FI Schutzschalter in meinen Sicherungskasten, vor der Installation hatte ich nie Probleme. An was könnte das liegen?
Beim Neustart nach dem Winter umf Service beim Händler im Winter, habe ich das Problem, daß der Robi zwar in die Ladestation fährt, aber nach ca 10 Sekunden wieder raus. Das wiederholt sich immer wieder, bis er mal vor der Station stehen bleibt. 28V habe ich an den Kontakten und die Schleifen funktionieren, denn ich hab sie gemessen. Laden tut er auch, wenn ich ihn manuell reinstecken. Was nun?
Ich musste diesen Frühling die Tastatur an meinem Automower AC 220 auswechseln, da sie nach über 3 Jahren wohl korrodiert war. On/Off funktionierte auch nicht mehr. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich auch gleich die Knopfbatterie (2025) ausgewechselt. Dabei bemerkte ich, dass es um die Stelle ziemlich feucht ist. Nach Einstecken der Batterie erscheint nun permanent die Meldung “load language file 02.17” Die Meldung ist nicht wegzukriegen. Woran könnte das liegen? Der Mower funktionierte tadellos bis zum Austausch der Tastatur/Knopfbatterie sowie dem Aus- und Einstecken der Batterie. Für einen Hinweis bedanke ich mich im voraus.
hallo, ich bin nun mittlerweile sehr verzweifelt. habe den 420 und nun mit original akku und kit (neue akkus) verbaut aber er erkennt einfach die ladestation nicht bzw lädt nicht. das hatte ich schon vor ende letzter saison mit alten akkus. die lampe leuchtet dauerhaft grün, stecker und anschlüsse sind sauber. platinen gereinigt und sogar ein paar milimeter rausgebogen. ich bin kurz davor aufzugeben. wenn ich in der ladestation neues schleifensignal eingebe, sagt er er soll in die ladestation. dort steht er aber… muss ich ihn entsorgen. lieben gruss hendryk
An der Platine im Automower scheint kein Strom anzukommen, deshalb erkennt er auch die Ladestation nicht. Der Automower sollte in die Werkstatt. Das Problem liegt zwischen Steckdose und Hauptplatine im Mäher.
Hallo Herr Häußler mein Automower 320 fährt nur noch 10 cm. raus aus der Ladestation und bleibt dann stehen oder er dreht sich um 45°. Fehler auf dem Display – “Problem Ladesystem “. Akku ist voll (neu 1 Jahr alt) und das Suchkabel habe ich neu verlegt. Er hat auch ca. 3 Wochen funktioniert aber seit 5 Wochen nicht mehr. Muss manuell wieder starten und dann erledigt er seinen Job inkl. zurück zur Ladestation. Alle Kontakte gereinigt und geprüft und die Platine leuchtet ganz normal grün. Haben sie noch eine Idee was gemacht werden kann? Vielen Dank Adrian
Haben Sie einen Original-Akku von Husqvarna verwendet? Wenn ja, evtl. Trafo überprüfen, evtl. bricht dieser unter “Last” zusammen…
Guten Tag, ich habe eine Husqvarna 315X und dieser fährt auf ein mal plötzlich nur noch 5 cm aus der Ladestation und fährt nicht mehr weiter. Ich habe den Stecker gezogen, Strom an und aus am Roboter, Mähzeiten gelöscht usw. und nichts hilft. Haben Sie hierzu eine Lösung? Vielen Dank Julius Ruck
Welche Fehlermeldung bringt denn der Automower – evtl. ist kein neues Schleifensignal generiert worden
Ich habe das gleiche Problem wie Julius Ruck (29. April 2022): Mein 420 fährt nur ein paar Zentimeter aus der Ladestation und bleibt dann stehen. Eine Fehlermeldung sehe ich nicht. Aber auch die Bluetooth-Verbindung zu meinem Mobiltelefon wird sofort wieder getrennt. Die Einstellungen sind alle so, wie gewünscht.
Hallo Herr Häußler, ich habe einen Automower 450x. Der Zeitplan ist wie folgt eingestellt. 08-22Uhr. Folgender der Fehler liegt vor. Er fährt früh um 08Uhr planmäßig los. Allerdings bleibt er dann nach dem 1.Laden in der Ladestation obwohl der Akku voll geladen ist und fährt dann erst wieder den nächsten Tag um 08Uhr los. Können Sie eventuell sagen, woran das liegen könnte? Ist seit der Winterpause so. Danke im Voraus, viele Grüße Marcus Seifert

Hallo Ich habe meinen Autonomer 105 nach Winterpause wieder angeschlossen. Wenn dieser in der Station steht und ich ihn starte passiert nichts. Steht er außerhalb der Station und ich starte ihn dann fährt er los (ohne zu mähen) dreht ein paar Runden im Garten und fährt dann am leitkabel wieder in die Station. Akku ist voll und wird auch so angezeigt. Was kann ich tun? Grüße
Einstellungen überprüfen, der Automower muß auf AUTO / Hauptbereich mähen stehen, alternativ ist der Akku defekt und Sie benötigen einen neuen Akku hier klicken
Guten Tag. mein automover220 zeigt kein Schleifensignal, wir hab eh n ihn l in m Winter draußen g eh lassen und seitdem geht er auch nicht mehr, zuerst hat er nie geladen. das geht jetzt plötzlich wieder, ich hab die kabel alle raus gestecht, Werkseinstellung gemacht. Die lampe blinkt grün, kann es sein das der roboter nicht mit der ladestation verbunden ist. wie meldet man ihn neu an? Oder wie kann ich eine kurze begrenzungsschleife machen? Verstehe nicht wie das geht, kann ich testen obs an den kabeln liegt. mittels einem stromtester. Freundliche Grüße Mirjam
Hallo Herr Häußler! Ich habe einen Husqvarna 315X. Bei diesem wurde der Akku getauscht (2600 Ladezyklen) Wahrscheinlich hätte ich den Mäher von der Automover Connect App abmelden müssen. Nun zeigt die App nur die Fehlermeldung ” Alarm! Außerhalb geogr. Eingr.” an und ich kann auch nichts ändern. Außerdem wollte ich den Akkuzähler (Ladezyklen) zurücksetzen. Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn Sie mir helfen könnten. Liebe Grüße Harald Bernhold

Glücklicherweise war es ausreichend, den Automover aus der App zu entfernen und neu zu verbinden. Der Geo-Punkt hat sich selbst wieder richtiggestellt. Herzlichen Dank für Ihre Hilfe! Hallo Herr Häußler, ich habe bei mir (315er) das gleiche Problem. Allerdings lässt es sich mit Neu-Installation der App nicht regeln. Gleichzeitig blinkt das grüne Licht an der Ladestation statt durchgehend zu leuchten. Kann das zusammenhängen? Viele Grüße!
wenn die grüne LED in der Ladestation blinkt, dann ist der Eco-Modus aktiviert, dadurch können Sie Ihren Mähroboter nicht außerhalb der Ladestation starten.
Hallo gestern stand mein Husqvarna 310 und rührte sich zum ersten Mal nicht mehr. Ca 1 m von der Hecke entfernt und es stand am Display Kollision aktiv. Was ist denn der Grund dafür ? Danke
es könnte an den Stoßsensoren liegen – bitte achten Sie darauf, das alle 3 Befestigungspunkte des äußeren Chassis sauber auf dem Untergehäuse sitzen, wenn dies der Fall ist, dann könnte es an den Stoßsensoren liegen – hier unser YouTube-Video: https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=k8LNuagSO_U
Hab den A220 aus dem Winterschlaf geholt. Vorher war er noch bei einer Generalüberholung in der Servicewerkstatt. Nun fährt der Rasenmäher nach der Aufladung aus der Ladestation raus und anschließend sofort wieder in die Ladestation zurück. Anstatt mit dem Mähen zu beginnen startet der Suchlauf und der Rasenmäher kehrt wieder in die Ladestation zurück. Eine Endlosschleife. Vielen Dank im Vorhinein für Ihren Tipp.

Dann müssen Sie bei Ihrer Werkstatt vorstellig werden, irgendetwas stimmt mit dem Ladevorgang nicht – Trafo/Trafokabel/Ladestationsplatine/Verkabelung/Hauptplatine oder Akku
DANKE für den Tipp. Sie lagen genau richtig. Es war die Kabelverbindung zwischen der Ladeschiene am Kopf des Mähers und der Batterie/Steuereinheit. Bei letzten Service dürfte das Zusammenstecken übersehen worden sein. Nun funktioniert wieder alles. Schöne Grüße Hauer Johann
Hallo, was kann vorliegen, wenn mein Akku (4 Jahre alt, war über den Winter voll geladen) meines Husqvarna Automover 430X nicht mehr lädt? Der Mäher lief bis der Akku leer war und wurde dann nicht mehr geladen. Zwischenzeitlich habe ich einen neuen Akku besorgt, da ich davon ausging, dass der 4 Jahre alte Akku auf Grund des Alters defekt ist. Der neue Akku wird zwar im Display als halb voll angezeigt, lädt aber nicht. Viele Grüße, Thomas
Wenn der Automower-Akku nicht mehr lädt kann Folgendes defekt sein: – Trafo – Trafokabel – Platine Ladestation – Verkabelung im Mäher – Hauptlatine – Akku
Hallo, habe meinen Mäher (Automower 315x) aus dem Winterlager der Servicefirma zurückerhalten. Er mäht auch ordentlich. Aber wenn der Mäher nach dem Zeitplan in die Garage fährt, schaltet sich der Mäher ab. (Meldung nach 3 Minuten: Angehalten – manuelles Eingriffen erforderlich) Programmierung über die App ist dann nicht mehr möglich (Meldung: Speichern fehlgeschlagen). Auch der nächste Start gemäß Zeitplan erfolgt nicht. Gleichzeitig fällt auf, dass die Uhrzeit über Nacht ständig aus dem Ruder läuft (ca 1,5 Stunden langsamer). Wenn ich die Uhrzeit ändere zum Zeitpunkt des Zeitplanstarts, mäht er problemlos. Während des Mähens passt die Uhrzeit. Gibt es so eine Art Winter-/Schlaf-Modus den die Servicefrma aktiviert hat? nein, es gibt keinen Winterschlaf-Modus – das Problem kann ich von hier aus nicht lösen – evtl. muß der Akku erneuert werden
Hallo, ich habe seit dem Winterschlaf unseres Mähroboters ein Problem. Er startet auf MAN den Motor, dabei wird er ziemlich laut und stoppt dann ohne Fehlermeldung. Aufgrund dieses Beitrag habe ich die Messerscheibe mal demontiert und gesäubert. Ein Versuchslauf ohne Messerscheibe läuft super, weder laut noch das er stoppt. Mit der Montage der Messerplatte das selbe Problem wie oben wieder. Dann habe ich versucht die Messerscheibe mal in einer anderen Position festzuschrauben, leider ohne Erfolg! Nun muss ich dabei sagen, dass ich wahrscheinlich eh eine neue Messerscheibe benötige, da sich eine Schraube eines Messers so verkeilt hat, dass ich sie nicht lösen konnte. und genau an der Stelle sind die beiden Muttern zum festschrauben aus der Scheibe gebrochen… Kann mir jmd bei meinem Problem helfen? Mein Automower G2 funktioniert gut, solange das Gras frisch gemäht ist. Bei etwas höheren Gras fährt er aber nur extrem langsam resp. stoppt ganz. In den Spiralschnittmodus geht er nicht. Wie kann ich das ändern, so dass er auch wieder höheres Gras schneidet?
Hi Michael. Ich habe einen 330x und seit dem Winterschlaf startet er nicht mehr mit dem Timer. Auf der Station zeigt er stets Laden an, auch wenn die Batterie voll angezeigt wird (dieses Batteriesymbol ist ausgefüllt). Wenn ich ihn aber von der Station nehme und Start drücke, dann startet er normal. An der Batterie kann es wohl nicht liegen, denn wenn ich ihn manuell starte, läuft er für 90min… Die Kontakte und die Schlaufe sind meines Erachtens in Ordnung. Hast du eine Idee was ich machen kann?
Wenn der Automower die neueste Software drauf hat, dann startet der Rasenroboter nicht unter 10°C. Wenn der Automower im manuellen Modus nur 90 Minuten mäht, dann ist die Batterie zumindest nicht mehr perfekt, sollte im manuellen Betrieb locker über 3 Stunden mähen.
Hi Michael. Danke für den Hinweis. Macht jetzt alles Sinn. Mit der Magischen Null (Taste 0 gedrückt halten) habe ich herausgefunden, dass eine der beiden Batterien hinüber ist, die andere wurde offensichtlich im 2017 ersetzt. Darum lief er auch 90min und nicht 3h.
Frohe Ostern, ich komme mir vor wie bei Akte X, wir haben ein Trampolin 1 Meter weiter östlich gestellt, und das Begrenzungskabel angepasst. Das Kabel geht vom Außenrand bis zur Mitte des Rasens, dann im Kreis wieder zurück bis zum Außenrand. Nun fährt der 430X gegen eine Imaginäre Mauer, genau da wo vorher das Trampolin stand. Entweder er bleibt komplett stehen und meldet Schleifensignal verloren, wenn ich ihn ein Meter weiter schiebe und wieder anstelle geht er wieder, oder er berappelt sich wieder indem er sich noch mal um die eigene Achse dreht und wieder weiter fährt. Liegt es an der bestehenden erfahrenden GPS Karte, oder habe ich bei der Neuverlegung ein Kabel gekreuzt?
Es kann an der GPS-Aktivierung liegen, diese bitte deaktivieren und ein paar Tage fahren lassen, dann sollte sich Ihr Automower wieder normal bewegen, alternativ wäre natürlich, wenn dort ein Begrenzungskabel liegen würde, oder ansonsten eine Störung des Induktionssignals vorliegen würde
Guten Tag, Unser 308 Auto Mower lässt sich nicht mehr starten. LED an der Station grün, keinerlei Fehlermeldung, Akku ist geladen, beim Einsetzen in die Ladestation meldet er auch Laden. Leider hat der Start button keinerlei Funktion. Ich kann ihn weder bei korrekter Zeitprogrammierung auf Auto noch im Manuel Modus starten. Es erscheint Immer korrekt die Meldung Startknopf drücken. Dann passiert leider nichts mehr beim Drücken, man hört auch keinen Ton. Die Kontakte der Platine habe ich gereinigt, das müsste alles in Ordnung sein. Kann tatsächlich das Bedienfeld bei einer Taste defekt sein, da alles andere korrekt funktioniert? Kann man ein neues Bedienfeld kaufen? Einbauen kann ich es selbst. ja, es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass die Automower-Tastatur defekt ist, diese können Sie jederzeit bei uns bestellen – eine entsprechende Email habe ich Ihnen bereits geschickt.
Lieber Herr Häußler, wir besitzen einen 220AC, und weil wir dachten der Akku sei am Ende, haben wir vor 3 Wochen das Servicemenü sichtbar geschaltet und einige Akkutests durchgeführt. Der Akku ist demnach noch ok. Heute allerdings zeigte der Automower die Zusammenfassungsseite des Service-Menüs und reagierte auf keine Eingaben. Nach Abklemmen der Akkus und anschl. Neustart bootet der Mower normal und zeigt zuerst auch das Hauptmenü. Danach hört man indes sofort zwei Klicks, so als hätte man zwei Tasten gedrückt, und das Display zeigt wieder die techn Daten und reagiert auf nichts mehr. Das ist so reproduzierbar. Was könnten wir wohl falsch gemacht haben bzw. gibt es eine Resetmöglichkeit? Vielen Dank für Ihre Hilfe!
Hier gibt es leider sehr viele Möglichkeiten, was an Ihrem Automower nicht in Ordnung ist, evtl. ist es der Akku, kann jedoch auch ein Problem mit der Elektronik sein – deshalb sollten Sie in diesem Fall Ihren Automower zum Händler in die Werkstatt geben.

Hallo Herr Häußler, ich besitze einen 450X mit Ultraschallsensoren. Im Moment fährt der Mower nur langsam da er immer Problem Ultraschallsenoren anzeigt. Die Sensoren habe ich bereits ersetzt. Kann es jetzt nur noch an der Hauptplatine liegen? Muß diese nach Wechsel neu programmiert werden, oder kann ich diese allein wechseln?

Guten Tag, ich suche schon den ganzen Tag, finde aber keine ähnliche Problembeschreibung im Netz. Vielleicht können Sie helfen… Ich habe auf der bestehenden Rasenfläche gestern einen 4m-Kreis mit dem Begrenzungskabel für meinen AC220 gesperrt, so wie ich das sonst auch für andere kleinere Blumeninseln usw. mache. Die Strecke der parallel verlaufenden Kabel für Hin- und Rückführung zum Kreis beträgt ca. 1 m vom äußeren Begrenzungskabel. Nun fährt der Roboter aber nicht mehr bis an das Kabel heran. Er dreht schon 1 oder 0,5 m vorher ab. Und irgendwann bleibt er auch einfach in der Nähe des Kreises stehen und rührt sich nicht mehr. Er zeigt dann an, dass ein Signalsensor defkt sei. Trage ich ihn dann ein paar Meter vom Kreis weg, funktioniert er wieder. Daher würde ich das mal das falsche Fehlermeldung einstufen. Haben Sie eine Idee für mich? Viele Grüße
Sehr wahrscheinlich haben Sie das Inselkabel irgendwo gekreuzt, dadurch erhält der Automower in diesem Bereich keine korrekte Induktion.
Ich habe folgendes Problem: Nach dem Winterschlaf war mein Mähroboter im Service. Laut Info passt alles. Ich habe ihn dann auch problemlos ein paar Mal verwendet. Plötzlich fährt er aber nicht mehr. Ich habe den Timer neu eingestellt. Sobald er los fahren sollte, fährt er aber nicht und am Display steht nur “Wartet”. Wenn ich ihn manuell fahren lasse, mäht er aber ganz normal. Was kann das sein?
Welches Modell haben Sie? Wenn wartet im Display steht, ist es möglich, daß Sie Ihren Automower nicht im AUTO-Modus, sondern im PARK-Modus stehen haben, dann fährt er natürlich nicht, sondern bleibt in der Ladestation, bis Sie manuell eingreifen
Guten Tag Unser Husqvarna 220 AC ist mit der Meldung im Display ‘ PIN EINGEBEN’. Auch geht der On OFF Schalter nicht, das heisst, wenn ich OFF einstelle bleibt die Anzeige ‘PIN EINGEBEN’ im Display. Gibt es noch einen weiteren Hauptschalter der die Verbindung zur Display Batterie kappt oder einen Reset Knopf. Danke für den Hinweis.
Nein, es gibt keinen 2. ON/OFF-Schalter am Automower, es gibt auch keinen Reset-Knopf am Rasenroboter – hier liegt ein elektronisches Problem vor – kann wohl nur die Werkstatt helfen
Sehr geehrter Herr Häußler, ich habe, da mein 315 keine Befehle per App während des Mähens angenommen hat-wollte ihn parken und er hat weiter gemäht- einfach angehoben, weil ich dachte ich könnte ihn so stoppen. Er fuhr dann aber, nachdem ich ihn wieder auf den Rasen gesetzt hatte, einfach weiter. Er soll aber doch eine Diebstahlsicherung haben. Muss ich die separat aktivieren, wenn ja, wie/wo? Habe jetzt insgesamt 3 Versuche gestartet und den Mäher angehoben, er fuhr anschl. immer unbeeindruckt weiter… Vielen Dank vorab. H. Heel
Hallo lieber Hr. Häußler, Sie kümmern sich so liebervoll um die Probleme. Vielleicht haben Sie noch eine Idee bei meinem Robi 220 AC Baujahr 2012: Ich habe eigentlich schon alles mind 1x durchgetauscht im Laufe der Jahre (bis auf Mähmotor). Letztes Jahr 2x Hauptplatine, weil der Mähmotor nicht mehr anlief. Letztes Jahr war dann alles gut danach. Nach der Winterpause wollte ich jetzt den Robi in Betrieb nehmen. LED an der Ladestation blinkt langsam alle 2 Sekunden. Er meldet “Schleifensignal nicht gefunden”, Schleife hat aber 11 Ohm, ist in Ordnung. Habe auch mit Cable Tracker schon auf die Schleife “gehört”. Höre nicht viel, nur leichtes Netzbrummen. Stecker der beiden Schleifenkabel Anschlüsse habe ich tip top neu gemacht, Steckpins gereinigt und auch innerhalb der Station alles überprüft und auch gereingt. Platine sieht eigentlich ganz gut aus, auch die Stifte der Stecker/ Buchsen. Ich tippe auf die Platine in der Ladestation, wollte aber langsam kein weiteres Geld investieren. Muss ich den Mäher möglicherweise noch wieder irgendwie neu verheiraten mit der Station? Vielen Dank vorab für Ihre Bemühungen und die Zeit, die Sie aufwenden. Gruß Ole aus Plau
Ja, nach Tausch der Platine in der Ladestation müssen Sie den Automower-Pin-Code auf die Ladestation übertragen – Menü – Sicherheit – PIN – PIN 3xbestätigen – dann “sprechen” Automower und Ladestation wieder miteinander
Sehr gehrter Herr Häuserl, haben Problem beim Neuanmelden des 220er an der Ladestation, merhmal die 3 x PIN Routine durchlaufen, PIN wird nicht auf Ladestation übertragen – Fehlermeldung Schleifensignal folgt, Grüne Lampe an Ladestation leuchtet dauerhaft. Hallo Herr Häussler, Mein Automower 315 findet nach der Winterpause nicht in die Ladestation. Die Kontrollleuche leuchtet grün. Die Prüfung des Suchkabels ergab ebenfalls, dass es i.O. ist. Der Roboter fährt längs des Suchkabels bis kurz vor die Station, dann biegt er ab und irrt im Raum umher. Haben Sie einen Tipp was ich tun kann? Anmerkung: Bei der Wiederinbetriebnahme nach dem Winter kam erst die Meldung “Ausserhalb des Arbeitsbereiches”. Nachdem ich über erweiterte Einstellungen ein neues Schleifensignal generiert habe, lief der Mäher problemlos, fand aber nicht die Ladestattion.

Hallo Herr Häußler, wir haben den Mähroboter Husqvarna auto mower 220AC, dieser verrichtet auch schon einige Jahre einen sehr guten Dienst bei uns. Leider tritt nun das Problem auf, dass er nicht mehr in die Ladestation einrastet. Nach dem Mähvorgang findet er zwar die Station aber trifft sie nicht mehr genau, er versucht immer kurz daneben links oder rechts einzurasten und kreist immer herum. Auch wenn ich ihn 20cm davor positioniere klappt es nicht. Ich muss ihn dann von Hand einsetzen und er lädt und mäht wieder. Das grüne Licht an der Ladestation ist an und es ist kein sichtbarer Fehler erkennbar, was kann ich tun?? Vielen Dank

Hallo Herr Häusler, folgendes Problem: Roboter ist gut aus dem Winterschlaf gekommen, fährt ein paar Mal und zeigt ohne vorhergehendes Ereignis “kein Schleifensignal” an. Ich habe stundenlang ihre Anleitung befolgt und am Ende eine Schwachstelle gefunden, die ich ortnungsgemäß mit einem Kabelverbinder behoben habe. Licht an der Station leuchtet grün, Roboter fährt wieder. Zwei Tage später findet der Roboter nicht zur Station zurück und fährt leer. Station blinkt außerdem blau. Ich stelle ihn zum Laden rein, komme am nächsten Tag wieder Licht wieder grün. Er fährt, alles normal. Beim nächsten Startversuch nach zwei Tagen blinkt das Licht wieder blau und der Roboter sagt, kein Schleifensignal. Es sieht irgendwie wie ein Wackelkontakt aus. Ich habe aber schon die Testschleife angeschlossen und die Station scheint ok zu sein. Das Kabel habe ich mittlerweile rausgeholt, alle alten Kabelverbindungen getauscht und kann keinen Fehler sehen. Was kann es sein?
das kann ich von hier natürlich nicht beantworten, wenn die Testschleife an der Automower-Ladestation immer grün ist, dann muß das Problem am Begrenzungksabel liegen
Hallo Herr Häußler, ich habe einen Automower 305. Akku ist 3 Jahre alt. Nachdem der Mäher nicht mehr herausfuhr (er war schon 4 Wochen in Betrieb nach der Winterpause), stellte ich fest, dass kein Akkusymbol mehr auf dem Display erkennbar war. Nach ca. 20 Sekunden ging auch immer das Display aus, zudem dauerte der Neustart (Automower-Symbol) sehr lang und die Meldung “kein Schleifensignal” kam. Kontrollleuchte an der Ladestation leuchtet grün. Daraufhin habe ich einen neuen Original-Akku bestellt. Nach erstem Start kam die Meldung “kurzeitiges Batterieproblem”. Er blieb diesmal aber an. Problem ist nur weiterhin: Er lädt nicht in der Ladestation, im Gegenteil, der neue Akku wurde sogar leicht entladen. Daraufhin habe ich mal versucht ihn im manuellen Programm mähen zu lassen. Hier kommt wieder nur die Meldung: “Kein Schleifensignal”. Neues Schleifensignal generieren wird mit der Meldung “Schleifensignal kann nicht generiert werden” (oder so ähnlich) quittiert. Haben Sie noch eine Idee?
wenn der Akku, der Trafo und die ladestation in Ordnung sind, dann liegt es an der Elektronik Ihres Automowers – deshalb kann hier wohl nur die Werkstatt helfen
Hallo Herr Häußler, habe den Trafo und die Ladestation ohne Anschluss am Strom über Winter draußen gelassen. Leider hatte ich vergessen die Garage abzubauen. Mein 320er lagerte innen bei angenehmer Temperatur. Nach der Winterpause fährt er allerdings nicht mehr selbstständig aus der Station und zeigt nach Öffnen des Deckels die Fehlermeldung „Problem Ladesystem“ an. Tausch des Trafos hat keine Veränderung mit sich gebracht. Die Leuchte leuchtet auch durchgehend grün. Test Ladestationen in der Mäheranzeige alles ok. Erster Batterietest bei 1800 mAh. Zweiter Batterietest bei 1900 mAh. Bis jetzt 3700 Ladungen. Test Ladestation in der Mäheranzeige alles ok. Nur wenn er in der Station ist und man auf Start drückt und er z.B. nächsten Start in einer Stunde oder am nächsten morgen anzeigt und man es bestätigt fährt er manchmal (sehr selten) noch raus. Allerdings nach dem nächsten Selbstständigen zurückfahren und zwischenlanden nicht mehr. Haben Sie eine Idee? Vielen Dank.

Mein 310 fährt nicht mehr über den gepflasterten Weg das hat er aber die letzten 4 Jahre immer ohne Probleme getan er Stop auch immer wieder auf der Rasenfläche und ändert die Richtung, woran kann das liegen.Danke.
Hallo, habe einen 430X und der macht eigentlich einen sehr guten Job. Leider bleibt er mittlerweise fast täglich einfach irgendwo stehen ohne Fehlerangabe, der Akku hat auch noch genug und schreibt “Angehalten Manuelles Eingreifen erforderlich”. Was kann ich da tun?
Sehr geehrter Herr Häußler, ich habe unseren Automower 315 vergangenen Winter zum ersten Mal selbst eingelagert, gereinigt usw. (normalerweise haben wir immer einen Service in Anspruch genommen, aber ich wollte das von nun an selbst übernehmen). Gestern habe ich den Automower 315 wieder reaktiviert und in die Ladestation geschoben. Fehlermeldungen etc. wurden keine auf dem Display angezeigt, auch das grüne Licht in der Ladestation leuchtet durchgehend. Heute morgen hätte der Automower eigentlich seinen Dienst wieder beginnen sollen, jedoch hat er das nicht (Timer war eingestellt und Datum war auch korrekt eingestellt). Daraufhin habe die Bedienungsklappe geöffnet und habe manuell eingestellt, dass der Automower für 90 Minuten mähen soll. Der Automower ist danach aus der Ladestation gefahren und fährt den Rasen nun wie gewohnt ab, aber das “Mähwerk” scheint nicht laufen bzw. dreht sich nicht, denn ich höre keinerlei Schnittvorgänge. Haben Sie eine Idee, was schieflaufen könnte bzw. was ich falsch gemacht haben könnte? Viele Grüße, Marco
evtl. ist das Mähwerk zu hoch eingestellt, so daß Sie die Mähgeräusche nicht hören. Wenn der Mähroboter ohne Mähwerk unterwegs ist, dann sucht er sofort die Ladestation auf.

Sie hatten Recht, es lag an der Schnitthöhe des Mähwerks, welches zu hoch eingestellt war und ich somit keinerlei Mähgeräusche gehört habe. Darf ich Sie noch fragen, welche Schnitthöhe Sie zur aktuellen Jahreszeit bzw. dann auch im Sommer und Herbst empfehlen würden? Der Automower wird bei uns privat im Garten eingesetzt. Nach der Winterpause habe ich die Klingen gewechselt und die Schnitthöhe auf das niedrigste eingestellt, der HQ 315 mäht aber nicht. ich glaube das MÄHRWERK ROUTIERT NICHT:Was kann ich tun?
wenn der Mähroboter fährt und dabei nicht in die Ladestation zurückfährt, dann mäht er auch – wenn die Halme so nieder sind, daß die Klingen nicht bis zum Halm kommen, kann er auch noch nichts abschneiden…
Sehr geehrter Herr Häußler, Ich habe meinen Husqvarna 450X nach der Winterpause wieder in Betrieb genommen und es hat für eine Woche alles bestens funktioniert. Nun kam die Meldung „kein Schleifensignal“ und die Ladestation blinkt blau. Ich habe das Begrenzungskabel getestet und auch eine kurze Schleife inkl. Suchkabel erzeugt, jedoch blinkt die Station weiterhin. Auf Werkseinstellungen zurückzusetzen hat nichts geändert, auch ein neues Schleifensignal zu erzeugen hat nicht funktioniert. Kann ich davon ausgehen, dass die Ladestation defekt ist oder haben sie noch einen Tipp für mich. Vielen Dank!
wenn die LED auch bei der kleinen Schleife blau blinkt, scheint die Platine in der Ladestation defekt zu sein – War die Ladestation über den Winter draußen?
Nein, aber leider hatte es letzte Woche nochmals unter 0 Grad. Vielen Dank, dann werde ich mir eine neue Platine bestellen.

wenn die blaue LED auch bei einer kleinen fingierten Schleife brennt, dann ist´s mit ziemlicher Sicherheit die Platine in der Ladestation
Ich habe meinen Roboter 301 aus dem Winterschlaf geholt, als ich diesen in die Ladestation stellte ließ er sich den Code eingeben und kurz danach schaltet er ab (Roboter schaltet jetzt ab) steht kurz am Display, wenn ich wieder kurz aus der Ladestation ziehe und wieder reinschiebe immer dasselbe Problem. In der Ladestation leuchte das grüne Licht…. besten Dank schon mal im Voraus.
Ich hätte bitte auch eine kurze Frage. Mein 315er (4 Jahre alt) läuft seit heuer nicht mehr. Er mäht wie gewohnt bleibt dann aber immer nach 30 min. im Mähvorgang einfach stehen. Display ist dann dunkel. Ein Einschalten ist nur mehr möglich wenn man ihn in die Station stellt. Also er beginnt überhaupt nicht die Station zu suchen. Begrenzungs- und Suchkabel sind ok (Durchgang gemessen). Sollte ich bei ihnen einen neuen Akku bestellen oder könnte das andere Ursachen haben? Danke!

Jetzt sind die Akkus neu die Schleifen sind neu die Platine der Ladestation ist neu und die Schleifensensoren sind ebenfalls neu. Ich kann keine Codeübertragung machen. Er sagt dann: Fehler Codeübertragung kein Sckleifensignal Schleife überprüfen. Können Sie mir da helfen

Hallo Herr Häußler, wir haben ein Gebäude erworben auf dessen Grundstück ein 330x seine Dienste zu verrichten versucht. An und für sich tut er alles wie erwartet, bis auf … wenn der Akku schwach wird, bleibt er einfach stehen. Kann mal passieren wäre meine Meinung dazu, was sich mir logisch überhaupt nicht erschließt ist, wenn man den Mover manuell startet, sollte dieser doch eigentlich auf dem schnellsten und kürzesten Weg zur Ladesation fahren, oder wenigstens den Versuch unternehmen diese zu finden. Unser Kamerad beginnt mit 3% Akkuleistung lustig seine Mähaufgaben weiter durchzuführen, um nach 5 Min. völlig leer erneut stehen zu bleiben. Kann man das erklären ? MfG Hannes

Hallo an alle, habe bei meinem 330x auf einmal das Problem das der Kollege nur noch kreuz und quer durch die Gegend fährt. Mal 2m dann 5m zurück ein bisschen im kreise gedreht und das dann noch ein paar mal. Bis er nach ca 10 min die keine Lust mehr hat und einfach ohne Fehler stehen bleibt. Was könnte denn der Grund dafür sein?
kann ich von hier leider nicht beurteilen, deshalb kann wohl nur der Automower-Experte vor Ort helfen
Hallo mein Mähroboter hat seit letzten Jahr (insbesondere immer nach dem Winter), dass das Display nur noch blau leuchtet, die Schrift aber nicht zu sehen ist. Somit ist die Bedienung nicht mehr gewährleistet. Meist hilft ein häufiges ein- u. ausschaulten. Aber es nervt. Wo liegt der Fehler? Hat jemand die gleiche Erfahrung gemacht? Vorab vielen Dank Grüße
Hallo Herr Häußler, ich hoffe auf Ihre Hilfe da mich folgendes Problem ratlos macht. Wir haben uns einen neuen Automower 105 zugelegt. Die Ladestation zeigt eine durchgehend grün leuchtende LED, trotzdem zeigt der automower nach dem Versuch das Schleifensignal neu zu generieren den Fehler Schleifensignal nicht neu generiert. Was können wir noch machen. Da der mower Neuinstallation sollte ein Defekt doch auszuschließen sein. Danke für Ihre Unterstützung.

Besten Dank, aber der Mäher und Ladestation, sowie Trafo sind doch neu. Kann ein solches Phänomen vielleicht auch durch Kabelbruch oder Kreuzung der Kabel passieren?

An alle die das gleiche Problem haben. Folgende Lösung hat bei Mirjas Problem behoben. Ich habe auf dem Rasen einfach eine neue Testschleife gelegt, 5 auf 5 Meter. Suchkabel nicht vergessen. Habe dann im Automower die Kundeneinstellungen zurückgesetzt und im Sicherheitenmenue das Schleifensignal neu generiert. Es funktioniert. Danach habe ich die Ladestation wieder an den alten Platz gebracht und die alte Suchschleife und Begrenzungsschleife wieder eingesteckt. Alle Signale sind da und der Mower erbringt wieder seinen Dienst, auch ohne Werkstattbesuch.

Hallo, ist es generell normal das der Akku sich bei längerer Nichtverwendung und ausgeschalteten Robo tiefenentleert? Wie auch in einen anderen Artikel schon gelesen war es bei mir auch so, dass nach der Winterpause alles neu einzugeben war Wie sieht es mit der Lebensdauer des Akkus aus? Sollte man im Winter zwischenladen??
kommt drauf an, welches Modell Sie haben. Bei G2-Modellen ist ein Nachladen während des Winters immer empfehlenswert, bei G3-Modellen auch kein Fehler, allerdings nicht unbedingt notwendig
Nach dem Service funktioniert die Einstellung im Menü Gartenabdeckung nicht mehr. Die Einstellung ist: Folge dem Suchkabel bei jedem Start 30m und beginne dort den mähvorgang. Ich habe den 320. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass im Menü 420 steht. Kabel sind alle in Ordnung. Kann es sein, daß er mit der 420er Software nicht klar kommt?

Guten Tag Erstmal vielen Dank für den Beitrag. Ich habe folgendes Problem mit dem AM430X. Letztes Jahr hatte ich den Mäher immer in Betrieb, ohne Probleme. Der ECO-Mode habe ich über das AMC App aktiviert. Wenn ich jetzt den Mäher auf die Wiese stelle und Starten möchte, geht das nicht, weil dann immer die Meldung kommt, dass das Schleifensignal wegen Eco-Mode nicht vorhanden ist. Dies ist ja alles korrekt. So habe ich den Mäher manuell in die Ladestation gestellt und habe jetzt aber das Problem, dass auf dem App immer steht Angehalten, Getrennt (Letztes Signal war als der Mäher auf der Wiese Stand). Solange ich jetzt keine Verbindung habe, kann ich den Eco-Mode auch nicht deaktivieren. Was soll ich tun? Alles resetten? Dann verliert der Mäher aber die GPS Daten bezüglich Arbeitsfläche, was ich nicht unbedingt möchte, wenn es anders geht. Dazu ist noch zu sagen, dass ein Unterstand mit einem Wellblechdach über der Ladestation liegt. Das hat zur Folge, dass die Verbindung über das GSM Modul sicher eingeschränkt ist, aber letzte Jahr hat es immer funktioniert. Ich könnte dieses Dach auch entfernen für das Initialisieren, hat gestern aber auch nicht den gewünschten Erfolg gebracht. Was schlagen Sie mir für einen Lösungsweg vor? Hallo, wir haben unseren Automover 305 aus dem Winterschlaf geholt. Der Akku war laut Anzeige fast voll und wir sind davon ausgegangen dass er normal seinen Betrieb aufnimmt. Dies geschah nicht über die Einstellung „Auto“. Der manuelle Start hat funktioniert und das Mähen ging los. Nach einer Weile ist der Mover wieder in die Station gefahren und seitdem wir ständig „Laden“ im Display angezeigt. Dies ist seit ein paar Tagen so. Ist der Akku kaputt? Was können wir tun? grundsätzlich können Sie den Akku selbst tauschen, besser ist natürlich der Gang zum Händler, der gleichzeitig Software-Update aufspielen kann, die Zählerstände zurücksetzen kann uvm.
Hallo Ich habe den Roboter Sileno City. Ich habe diesen zum Winter reingeholt aber die Ladestation am Strom gelassen. Er zeigte bis Januar immer Grün an. Auf einmal blinkt er blau. nach 3 Stunden war er wieder auf grün und das ging eine ganze zeit so…. hin und her. Dann habe ich so gedacht – gut ich ziehe mal den Stecker für einige Tage. Nun blinkt er nur noch blau und sagt kein Schleifensignal. Was nun ?

Genau so laüft es auch bei mir, obwohl ich die Ladestation über den Winter abgebaut hatte. Der Mäher hat auch bis vorige Woche noch zuverlässig gemäht, wie immer. Plötzlich stand er im Garten mit der Meldung “Kein Schleifensignal”. Stunden später fuhr er wieder los, fuhr auch mehrmals zum Aufladen, dann wieder Stop, dann wieder ein wenig Mähen und seit gestern gar nix mehr. Nach bewährter Metode den Schleifenstrom geprüft: alles okay! Trotzdem blinkt die Station blau. Husqvarna Automower 315x, gekauft 2018 im Mai. Was ist zu tun?

Lieber Herr Häußler, toller Beitrag, genauso habe ich es gemacht. Der Mower fährt auf der Nebenfläche mit der restlichen Akkuleistung los und hört bei 56% Akkuleistung auf und meldet “Mäher manuell laden”, ok zurück zur Station getragen, vollgeladen und erneut auf eine andere Fläche gesetzt, er fängt auch an und meint erneut bei 56% Akku-Leistung – ich will geladen werden. sehr wahrscheinlich liegts an der Aufhängung rechts vorne – dort muß ein Magnet drin sein und diese muß genau Richtung Gehäuseinnere zeigen, dort wartet der Sensor auf das Magnetfeld, wenn dies fehlt, meldet der Automower “Angehoben”
Hallo, Automower 305. Hatten einen Schleifenbruch, der rapariert wurde, jetzt leuchtet die Lampe grün. Wenn der Roboter in der Station ist, laedt er. Wenn er auf dem Rasen steht und über manuell gestartet wird, mäht er. Er findet auch über home in die Station zurück und dockt richtig an. Aber wenn er einmal ein der Station ist, fährt er nicht mehr los. Selbst auf Manuell nicht. die Räder scheinen auch irgendwie gegen ein vorwärtsschieben zu drücken / zu blockieren, nachdem manuell gewählt wurde. wenn ich dann mit etwas mehr Kraft doch vorwärtsschiebe ca. 15 cm, ist dieses blockieren weg und er lässt sich wieder über Manuelle starten. Schleifentest OK. alle anderen tests auch OK. Irgendeine Idee ?
Hallo Herr Häußler, ich brauche Ihren Rat. Ich habe den 330x im Winter im Keller voll geladen. Jetzt habe ich im Keller aufgeräumt und den Robomower mal kurz eingeschaltet. Kein Reaktion. Also ran an die Ladestation, Gerät startet normal neu und fragt nach einer neuen PIN. Die gleiche PIN wieder eingegeben, Datumsabfrage bestätigt (Datum stimmte). Komisch ist nur, daß der Robomower anzeigt das er lädt, aber im Batteriestatus immer leer ist. Sobald ich ihn aus der Ladestation nehme dauert es ca. 10 sec. und der Akku ist leer. Mir scheint das das Gerät tiefenentladen ist, aber über die Ladestation nicht mehr nachladen kann. Was würden Sie mir empfehlen? Vielen Dank
Bitte für 5 Sekunden die 0 drücken, dann kommen Sie ins Info-Menü – nachschauen, ob der Ladestrom während der Mäher in der Ladestation steht angezeigt wird. Brennt die Led in der Ladestation? Wenn nicht, könnte der Trafo defekt sein.
Sehr geehrter Herr Häussler, Habe meinen Mähroboter nach dem Winter an die Ladestation angedockt. Ladestation leuchtet ganz normal grün…aber er lädt nicht, auch nicht nach einem Neustart. Hallo Herr Häußler, unser 220AC (Mäher A) lädt nicht mehr, er zeigt “Kein Kontakt mit Ladestation”. Wenn man ihn in die Ladestation stellt, fährt er wieder raus und versucht dann erneut, in die Ladestation zu fahren und anzudocken, fährt aber dann wieder raus und rein etc. Wir haben noch ein anderes Grundstück, dort verrichtet auch ein 220AC seit Jahren zuverlässig seinen Dienst (Mäher B). An der Ladestation von Mäher A kann das Problem nicht liegen: Wenn ich Mäher B reinstelle, lädt dieser ohne Probleme. Wenn ich aber Mäher A in die Ladestation B stelle, lädt dieser auch dort nicht und versucht aus der Ladestation rauszufahren (im Display erscheint “Starten”). Es muss also am Mäher liegen. An alle 220 ac. sollte ihr Automower immer in ladesta5ion fahren und spfort wider raus, müssen Sie erst den Automower in ladestation stellen dann menüe Einstelungen aufmachen und pin code neu generieren. kann wider der alte sein bis der Automower mit der Ladestation kontakt aufnihmt. Hallo, wir haben in unsere Ladestation eine neue Platine einbauen lassen müssen, weil’s kürzlich in der Nachbarschaft einen Blitzeinschlag gab (den Mager selbst hatten wir vor dem Gewotter reingeholt – gebranntes Kind!). Nun sagt der Mäher jedoch „Fehlendes Schleifensignal“. Wir haben schon alles ausprobiert, auch die PIN neu eingegeben, als der Mäher in der Ladestation stand, aber die Fehlermeldung kommt immer wieder. „PIN übertragen“ wurde mir allerdings nicht angezeigt. Capabilities
The 315 can cover lawns reaching 1500 m² in size so for those with lawns this big it would likely take you about 1 – 2 hours to mow the lawn yourself with a manual push mower and you would probably only do this once a week.
I have no doubts that your lawn will look great immediately afterwards, but what about after 3 – 4 days.
It probably begins to look a rugged and maybe the grass starts to grow a little uneven.
Well that’s when the 315 comes to the rescue.

Power System
The 315 is powered using a lithium-ion battery which it charges automatically once low on power using its own charging station. It only takes about 60 minutes to charge and produces a running time of 70 minutes.
The 315 comes with a replaceable battery that is located in the chassis and doesn’t have to be unplugged to recharge.
As mentioned above, this automower (like all in the market) has its own charging station which it leads itself to automatically. The battery only consumes 25W while cutting and the charger will only consume 1.3 amps.
Compared to the standard electric or petrol mower, this will save you quite a bit of money depending on where you live.
Cutting Blades
The 315 is equipped with 3 razor sharp, carbon steel, cutting blades attached to a rotating disk in the centre of its base.
As they are not fixed in one place, the blades just fly out due to centrifugal force.
Because of this they are only powerful enough to cut through the grass and nothing else. So when a small object (like stones, toys or twigs) crawls under the bot, the will not be damaged, and neither will the blades.
This solves a big problem that affects most models in the market and makes the point clear that you don’t need a large blade to be an effective mower.
A very simple system is all that is needed.
This means you won’t have to clear the lawn before every mow like you would with most mowers.
And when the 315 does come into contact with any object, its sensors will automatically switch of its rotating disk. Reducing the damage (even if only little) caused to the blades.
It will then turn round and continue to mow in a different route. Unless of course the object it small enough to slip under the mower without any problems.
Mulching
All robotic mowers mulch the grass cuttings. The 315 cuts the grass into tiny pieces so the clippings can drop all the way down to the soil. As they decompose, they pass on nutrients to the soil to promote much healthier grass growth

Mowing Features
The unit is capable of mowing on areas where the slope reaches 22° which is a little higher than most competitors can reach (only by 2°).
But I must say, the Husqvarna models handle these so much better than other models.
Most (not all) would either get stuck and turn off or begin to trundle down the hill again. Whereas as the Husqvarna models will glide up them with ease.
So to those with a slopped yards, no mower will be able to deal with your lawn better than these models.
But a little word of warning.
For times where the 315 needs to stop and turn, the slope should not exceed 15% as it may begin to struggle.
Spot Cutting
This feature is to ensure proper mowing over longer areas of grass.
Just place the mower in an area of long grass and select the “Spot Cutting” mode. It will then cover the chosen area in tight spirals and once finished resume automatic mode.
This is particularly useful for areas under garden furniture, once the furniture is removed of course.
Narrow Passages
So that it can calculate the best way through the narrowest of gaps, the 315 has special built-in sensors which detect narrow passages.
Once the data is recorded the 315 will vary its route through those passages to avoid unpleasant tracks.
This reduces the possibility of the mower getting in any sticky situations, which you would have had to manually have to lift it out of.
Programming
The unit has an easy to use settings panel which lets you to personalise its settings to your lawn.
For example, you can use it to choose which days and times you want the 315 to operate.
Not only that, you can change its cutting height as well, from anywhere between 0.8 in – 2.4 in. Simply decide which length you want and then turn one large knob on top of the unit.
But make sure you don’t set this to the shortest length straight away.
By doing this you won’t make use of the ‘mulching function’ – and if you want a great looking lawn, you will definitely want to make use of it!
Husqvarna App
So this feature is not so special but it definitely help remove you from the whole lawn mowing experience – the whole point to a robotic lawn mower.
First you’ll need to get the Husqvarna App SIM card can plug it into your automower and download the Husqvarna App to your phone. You can either do this through the app store for iPhones or through the Google Play store for Android users.
Once you have downloaded it you will have to create a new account and just follow the steps. From here you can give the mower a name and then connect it to your phone.
Once you have the app up and running, you can begin making changes to 315 mowing system.
You can do stuff like alter its mowing schedule, cutting height and send it out or bring it back from a mow.
It also shows notifies you of any problems caused to the mower at any point and shows you a map of the yard. From this you can see the progress it has made throughout the day using a heat map or a line trail.
Now I’m not going to say this is any better than the others because in fact is on par with the like of Bosch and Robomow.
But take nothing away from it.
This is a great feature and will prove very useful during winter when the last thing you want to do is go out and fiddle around with a freezing cold robot.
Weather Timer
A unique feature of the 315 is its lawn height sensors.
These enable this model to adapt its schedule according to the lawn’s changing growth throughout the year. So in times of strong grass growth the 315 will maximise mowing for a more effective cut.
In periods of sunny or dry weather the 315 will spend less time mowing, preserving your grass and reducing wear on your mower.
Eco-Friendly
As the 315 has an electric motor it doesn’t produce harmful emissions and also operates at a very quiet 58 dB, so no noise pollution either.
This lets you program it to work during the night, it won’t wake you up and will certainly keep the neighbours happy!
Due to efficient energy management and unique cutting system, the 315 consumes low quantities of energy. Therefore it operates at a fraction of the cost of conventional lawnmowers.
Weather Proof Design
The 315 is designed to work your lawn constantly throughout the year, functioning fully and unattended regardless of weather conditions.
This is because it has been designed to handle the harsh Nordic climates.
But if you feel your lawn might prove a struggle for the 315, then you can order special coarse-treaded wheels. These provide excellent traction in slippery and wet conditions.
Rain Sensor
When the weather gets too bad, to the point where your lawn would only be damaged by cutting the 315 will sense this and retreat back to its charging station.
The only real problem that the mower can’t deal with is frost. When it gets really cold, the bottom of the mower may freeze over, stopping it in its tracks.
Safety Features
To ensure complete safety to you, your children and pets the 315 has several built-in safety features.
Quick Stop Blade Function
If at any point during mowing you attempt to pick up the 315, or if for any reason it tips over, the cutting disk will automatically stop rotating preventing any injuries to the hand.
And as an extra precaution, the 315 has adequate space between its border and blades. Leaving just enough room for your fingers.
Remote Object Detection
As said earlier, 315 has ‘remote object detection’ as well as bump sensors.
So when the unit comes into near contact with an obstacle during its route, it will stop, redirect itself and continue mowing in a different direction.
It will then avoid this area for future mowing.
PIN Alarm System
And finally, a PIN and alarm security system has been built-in to prevent operation by anyone unfamiliar with the controls.
This should scare off the odd burglar who tries to chance his luck and will stop the kids trying to use it without your supervision.
If any unusual activity does occur, you’ll be sent notifications to your phone (provided you downloaded the app).
Downsides
Okay so yeah the 315 is not a perfect mower, it does have some flaws but it has a lot less than most of its competitors. So I’ll run through them here.
- Like all mowers, this model can’t reach any grass outside of its loop wire so you will have to do some trimming every few days.
And that’s it. Only one flaw in an otherwise perfect mower. I assume you can see why I rate this models so highly.
Conclusion
Husqvarna have produced one of the greatest robot mowers on the market today, in fact I think it sets the standard to which all competitors must aspire.
The ability to adapt its mowing schedule based on the length of grass is truly innovative and the large variety of features available make it an extremely versatile mower.
You will have to make quite a big financial investment for this model, so it will take some serious consideration.
But with all the features on offer here, I think it’s well worth it. You’ll love all of the features it has that make lawn care so much easier and, more importantly, you’ll love the results!

Wow, this is one of the most interesting lawnmowers I’ve ever seen! Check that, it is DEFINITELY the most interesting lawnmower I’ve ever seen. The Husqvarna 315 Automower looks more like a prototype of a sports car from 2075 than a lawnmower. And really, when you compare it to riding mowers, that price tag isn’t too bad. Very cool!

Hello Mark, This is a worth of getting for someone who has, like you said, busy and a large garden area. Perfectly for the wealthy who lives at a stylish, neighborhood. Talk about making our lives easier. Well, as they say, you pay what you get. Hence, a considerable investment would provide a considerable help as a return. I think it covers everything including sensors and mulching? That’s an added value. Who would have thought of having a robotic mower which can enhance grass growth?
Yeah I know you would think that robomowers only make the task easier on the user when in fact they actually do a better job. I think many people are unaware of this and considering how good a job it does, I think it is something that must be made clear. So maybe they arent just for the busy, maybe even the keen gardeners will make just as much use out of it, maybe even more. Wow I did not know this existed! sounds like a dream come true. I hate having to maintain my lawn and it sounds like it is better for the grass. Also like the design, looks like a luxury car. How long do the blades last? Do they have to be sharpened? if so how often?
Yeah I’m the same Rob, mowing has always seemed like a chore to me which is why I love them so much! Because these blades are small and thin, they don’t last as long as they bigger ones you’d find on normal mowers, so you’ll have to change every month or so. Just keep your eye on the mower though, if it seems to be cutting a little worse than usual then the blades are most likely worn out and blunt. At which point you would just replace them. This could be quite annoying but it keeps your lawn in great knick so it’ll be worth it. Wow, this lawn mower looks amazing! I have a Roomba Vacuum cleaner that runs all day in my house and I absolutely love it so I was looking for a similar solution for my lawn. I just wanted to know, is this safe for pets? I have two big dogs that like to chase anything that moves and they also like to chew on things in the yard. Is the material pretty strong and would it be dangerous at all? Thanks!
Yeah no worries Jude, it’ll have no problems with your dogs. The 315 has built in sensors and programs which prevent it from damaging or causing harm to anything. Also, the material used is very strong and robust so it’ll withstand all the wear and tear that comes with everyday mowing. And if you love the Roomba, then you’ll this mower even more. Compared to that of a regular mower, the 315 produces a much better result and finish. So not only will you save time and effort but your garden will benefit aswell. Hello Mark, thanks for the very useful review…trying to choose a robot mower for my husband and its a bit of a mine field! Can the Husqvarna cope with separate areas of lawn with hard surfaces in between or would it need manually lifting to these?
Yeah they should be able to Lydia, if the areas are connected by a path of some sort that the mower can actually travel over. It has tough, coarse-treaded wheels so the hard surfaces won’t be a problem. Although, you might want to check out a Robomow model (the RS615 is their equivalent to the Husqvarna 315). They have a specific feature built into them which allows to travel from area to area, it’s called Multi-Zone feature. Now there isn’t much evidence to suggest that the Husqvarna won’t be able to handle this, but you can say for sure that the Robomow will definitely be able to, so I think it’s worth checking it out. Husqvarna Automower Review
This Husqvarna Automower review is based on our experience with the Husqvarna Automower. We do not represent Husqvarna in any capacity.
Choosing a Husqvarna Automower
Because Husqvarna sent us an Automower, we didn’t go through the process of deciding which was best for us. Husqvarna decided the Automower 430XH was best for us … and my parents.
Yup, we have the Automower installed at both homes, so we had to get a mower that could handle both.
You can choose between three lines: the Bluetooth Connect, the X-Line series, and the Professional Models.
Bluetooth Connect
The Bluetooth Connect Automowers have a high cutting capacity and low noise levels. These mowers use [email protected], so you can send commands to the mower from up to 100 feet away via Bluetooth. Which is cool, but it’s not as cool as us being able to be states away and still run our mower.
There are three models in the Bluetooth Connect line: the Automower 115H, the Automower 310, and the Automower 315. They vary on working area capacity, cutting height, and typical mow time on one charge. If you like your lawn short, either the Automower 310 or 315 is for you because it can cut as low as 0.8 of an inch.
X-Line Series
This is what we have. This series has a lot of features the Bluetooth Connect line doesn’t, like GPS theft tracking, GPS assisted navigation, LED headlights, a front rubber bumper (which is great because it will bump into your flower beds, garden, edging, etc.), and the ability for them to be started from anywhere. Plus, the X-Line series is more heavy duty than the Bluetooth Connect line.
There are six options in the X-Line series. Three kick off the line (the Automower 315X, the Automower 430X, and ours, the Automower 430XH). Then, two have premium features (the Automower 450X and 450XH), and finally there’s the Automower 435X, which has all wheel drive.
These, like the Bluetooth Connect line, vary based on working area capacity, cutting height, and length of time it can mow on one charge. Some of these models can cut down to 0.8 inches, but for whatever reason, ours can only go as low as 2 inches. It can, however, cut the highest at 3.6 inches.
Professional Models
The Professional Models were created for landscapers and property managers to use. There are three in the line (the Automower 550, 550H, and 535 AWD). But since this review is focused on the Automower for home use, I’m not going to go into any details about those.
Installing the Husqvarna Automower boundary wire
You can order an Install Kit, which comes with loop wire and staples. The Install Kit comes in three sizes, so be sure to choose the installation kit that’s the right size for your lawn.
The small Install Kit has 492 feet of loop wire and 300 staples; the medium Install Kit has 820 feet of loop wire and 400 staples; the large Install Kit has 1,312 feet of loop wire and 600 staples.
You’ll have to install the boundary wire around the perimeter of the lawn, but also install the wires within the lawn as well. So you might need more boundary wire than you anticipate.
You can set it up on your own, but we actually had an installer come and do ours. That was a lot easier for us because the installer knew exactly what he was doing. And when we wanted one of the wires to be moved (because my mom was building a path in her backyard and was heading right for the wire), the installer came back and moved it for us.
To install the wire, you cut into the grass — between 1 cm and 20 cm — and lay the boundary wire. You may initially see all the wires, but after a couple days, grass will grow over the wire and it will be completely unnoticeable.
You don’t want the wire to be too shallow because you run the risk of the mower snagging it. And you don’t want to cross the wires.
If you have grass on both sides of your driveway, you might be tempted to lay the wire across the driveway. You could do that, but then you risk breaking a wire when you are parking your car. If you park on top of the exposed wire, the weight of your car may break it.
Instead, make a continuous loop that circles one side of the lawn, goes to the backyard, then circles the other side of the lawn.
When you’re laying the wire, think about any heavy items you have in your backyard, like a wrought iron table. You don’t want to sit it on top of the wires.
You also want to circle it around things like flower beds. It can bump into them and move along, but setting the boundary wire so the Automower avoids obstacles is a better option.
Does the Husqvarna Automower work if you have a fence?
If you have a fence, you have two options for the Husqvarna Automower.
Cut a hole If you’re really committed to your Automower, you can cut a hole in your fence, almost like a doggy door. Then, the boundary wire can be installed through that hole. When the Automower is running, it can go through that hole when it’s going from the front to back lawn.
Open the fence doors My parents didn’t want to cut a hole in their fence and, honestly, I don’t blame them. So instead, the boundary wire was installed with the fence doors open. Then, when we run Moe, my parents just have to open the fence doors.
In this case, we don’t let Moe run overnight at their house. Having the fence doors open when they’re home is fine, but for safety, they close and lock the fence doors at night. So they only run the Automower during the day.
Setting up the Husqvarna Automower charging station
The Husqvarna Automower charging station is actually comprised of two parts. There’s the charging station, which is basically a dock for the Automower when it’s charging or not in use. Then, there’s the power supply, which is the battery and wires that connect the charging station to an outlet.
So, keep that in mind when you’re deciding where to place the charging station. It does need to be relatively close to an outlet because it will need to be plugged in to work.
Running the Husqvarna Automower
The Husqvarna Automower takes a few runs to map out your entire lawn. So, we were told to run the Automower for 24 hours, give it a one-day break, run it for 24 hours, give it another one-day break, then another 24 hour run. After that, it should have a good idea of your lawn. It can take up to two weeks for your Automower to completely learn your lawn, though.
How does the Husqvarna Automower work?
As its running, it is assigning “numbers” to sections of the lawn. It then starts to use this information to mow. So, if it goes out and doesn’t get “section 85” before it needs to recharge, it will head out and start at “section 85” on its next mow.
After those initial marathon days, you can set your Automower on a schedule and run it when its convenient for you.
Our lawn is a little less than half an acre, broken up over a front and back lawn, and it takes the Automower about 6.5 hours to complete the lawn.
That number actually sounds shocking compared to the amount of time it takes a person with a push mower to mow the lawn. Pete will usually take an hour or so to mow our lawn, so it takes the Automower about six times as long.
It does move a lot slower than Pete and cuts the entire lawn with three very tiny blades as opposed to the very large blades a push mower users.
The Husqvarna Automower relies on two pieces of technology to mow your lawn.
First is the boundary wire. That wire is placed around your lawn to set up a perimeter. Within that perimeter, there’s a return wire and that’s how it knows how to go home to its charging pad. When the battery is low or when you hit “Park” on the app, the Husqvarna Automower will find the return wire, cross it, and then follow it directly home without mowing along the way.
It also uses GPS technology to choose the path it mows. The Automower doesn’t follow the same path each time it mows, so you don’t end up with cut lines in your lawn like you get from a traditional lawnmower.
The Husqvarna Automower Connect app
The Husqvarna Automower Connect app is, quite possibly, my favorite part about the Automower.
The app works for both iPhone and Android, so Pete and I can both have the app on our phones (I have an iPhone and he has Android). The Husqvarna Automower Connect app controls everything about the Automower.
From the app, you can start, stop and pause the mowing session, change the cutting height, view a map to see the path your Automower has mowed, turn the headlights on and off, park the Automower, order new blades, change the name of your Automower, and more.
You can do the majority of these things manually on the mower’s keypad (except order blades), but it’s so much easier to do it from the comfort of your own home.
We’re sitting at the farmers’ market right now and I just started Moe.
If the Automower has any trouble, the app will send a notification that pops up on your phone. If he gets stuck somewhere or tangled on something, you’ll get a notice. Both of those things happened when Moe was at my parents’ house. I got the notice on my phone and was able to run right over to see what the trouble was.
My parents don’t have the app (although they could get it if they wanted), but they saw Moe’s headlights flashing — another way Moe alerts you when there’s an error. So that’s a great feature if you’re home; the notifications from the app are great if you’re not home.
How to protect the Husqvarna Automower
The Husqvarna Automower has a charging pad that it stays on when he’s either charging or not mowing. That charging pad stays outdoors and must be placed near an outlet (you need to plug the transformer into an outlet at one end, then the charging pad in the other).
The Husqvarna Automower can stay outside in the elements, although I wouldn’t suggest leaving it outside all winter long if you live somewhere that gets a considerable amount of snow.
You can bring it into your garage during the winter, which is what our plan is.
But you don’t want to have to think about bringing the Automower inside during every rainstorm. You have a few options.
Option 1: You can buy or build an Automower “dog house.” It looks like a traditional dog house, but it’s actually to house your Automower. I saw one online that is a house for the Automower, but it’s a planter on top. So, when Pete gets a little free time, he’s going to build that for us.
Option 2: Get a tarp and throw it over the Automower when it rains. This isn’t the prettiest option, but it is the most economical. If you get a lot of rain, the tarp will puddle with water, so be careful when you’re taking the tarp off the Automower. You don’t want to spill heaps of water on it.
Option 3: This is my mom’s solution for now. She purchased a collapsible kiddie/pet pool. When we’re not using it as an Automower cover, it folds up for easy storage. And, when my nephews comes to visit and want to swim, we can use it as a pool.
Option 4: Husqvarna sells an Automower House. No. Seriously. It’s called a house. But it’s basically a roof that matches the look of the Automower and sits on top of it to protect it from rain and excess sun exposure. The house is retractable, so you’re still able to access the Automower’s keypad even with the house.
What about security for the Husqvarna Automower?
Like I said before, I’m typing this up at the farmers’ market while Moe mows our lawn. I can’t physically see the Automower with my eyes. I can, however, open the Husqvarna Automower Connect app and see exactly where the Automower is. The Automower’s location is marked by a circle with an image of the Automower in it. If you click that circle, you’ll get the GPS coordinates for exactly where the Automower is at that moment (okay, it’s more like where it was a minute ago because there is a slight delay).
If your Automower goes missing, you can open the app and locate exactly where it is.
The Automower has a built in alarm, though. When it passes the boundary wire, the alarm will sound. One of the members of our installation team said the alarm is so loud that as soon as a thief tries to take it to his (or her) car, he (or she) will bring it right back.
An additional security feature is the pin code. In order to start the Automower or access any of its settings, you need to enter the pin code. So, if someone does try to steal your mower, they won’t be able to use it without your code.
Can you set up the Automower for multiple homes?
Yes, yes, yes. Okay. This is so cool.
So, for those who don’t know, we live two doors down from my parents. We actually had the opportunity to buy the lot right next to them, but the lot was about half the size of the lot we did buy and it just wasn’t enough room. So there’s a house between us.
But we have the Automower installed on both lawns.
This was actually part of why we really wanted the Automower. See, my parents live in Florida, and then have a house in North Carolina where they stay part time. When they’re in Florida, Pete and I are in charge of their house. My part is easy. I just check the mail and bring it inside. Pete has to mow their lawn. After a long week of work, then working the local farmers’ market on the weekend, the last thing he wants to do is mow two lawns.
Now he doesn’t have to mow any.
We have one Automower and we can move him back between both houses.There is a charging station and transformer at each house, though.
When we want to move the Automower, we have to physically pick it up to move it. If we bought the house next door to my parents, the boundary wire could have been installed to connect both houses, but it was not (obviously).
The Automower weighs about 36 pounds. That’s not bad. I can actually lift and carry it myself, so if I can do it with my lack of upper arm strength, anyone can do it.
Once you move the Automower from house to house, you just use the keypad on the Automower to “change the loop signal.”
The loop signal, by the way, it the path set by the boundary wire.
The Automower will ask you to place it in the charging station, and once you push it in, it will change the loop signal and know which hose to move. You can hit start right away (from the keypad or from your phone app) and it will immediately start to mow.
Can you personalize the Automower?
You can name your Automower. We named ours Moe, which makes me laugh all the time. My dad will text me “Send Moe home” when he’s ready to close the fence doors and go to bed, and it’s the funniest thing.
You can also purchase replaceable covers for the Automower. They come in orange, white, or gray. There are covers for the center portion of the Automower and then there are covers for the entire top layer of the Automower.
Honestly, the white looks so sleek, we might have to change Moe’s outfit — for before Labor Day, anyway.
You can also upgrade the Automower’s wheels if you need all terrain wheels.
What are the negative things about the Husqvarna Automower?
We love our Husqvarna Automower. Like seriously, we can’t live without Moe anymore. He really has made a difference in the short three months we’ve been running him. The Husqvarna Automower is pretty close to perfect, but it’s not perfect.
So, what are the bad things? So far, we’ve only really found three. And one is not that bad.
One: The Husqvarna Automower doesn’t edge the lawn. It gets to the edge, but doesn’t actually do the edging. It takes Pete ten minutes, max, to edge our lawn so that’s a lot better than the hours he spent outside mowing.
Two: The Husqvarna Automower doesn’t have a rain sensor. Our sprinkler system has built in technology so if it senses water or that the lawn is saturated during its scheduled run time, it won’t run. The Husqvarna Automower doesn’t have that type of sensor. So, if it starts to rain suddenly (which happens quite often in North Carolina) while the Automower is running, you have to stop it via the app. It’s fine if we’re home. It’s not as easy to know the weather when we’re on an out of state vacation.
Three: The Husqvarna Automower won’t cut our weeds. We have two main types of weeds at our house, clovers and cylindric sedge. The Automower won’t cut the weeds, mostly because of the fibrous stem.
When Pete would mow the lawn, the push lawnmower would cut the clovers and grass, so the clovers didn’t bother me. I knew they were there, but they were green and didn’t stand out. Now, since the Automower won’t cut them, the clovers really stand out and make our grass look patchy. The regular grass is beautiful — healthier than before the Automower started running. But the patches look bad.
I’ve been pulling weeds by hand, one grocery store-sized bag a day, in hopes that I’ll be able to get rid of all of them (I know I can use chemicals and I can use vinegar, but I’m a little stubborn and anti-chemicals, so I’m doing it by hand). So I guess this complaint is really that the Automower does such a great job that it makes the imperfections in our lawn really stand out.
But I do wish it cut the weeds for me.
