Can the grass trimmer be carried in hand luggage

Calculating the luggage space

Before you go on a trip with your electronics and household appliances, you should know the weight and dimensions you are allowed to carry.

The system of charging by weight is applied by most carriers of the CIS, Asian and European countries. Standard weight limits per baggage item (may vary depending on airline conditions) are as follows

According to the weight system, the air carrier limits passengers exactly in the weight of the cargo, not in the amount of weight. That is, one citizen whose ticket includes 20 kg of luggage may carry two bags of 10 kg each. Every kilogram over the allotted weight is paid for separately, according to the fares.

Maximum dimensions are limited to 203 cm (sum of three dimensions).

For flights departing or departing from the United States, Canada, Mexico and South American nations, other rules apply. Every citizen whose fare includes baggage is entitled to carry on:

One seat weighs no more than 23 kg. economy class (from the U.S. and Canada, two seats are most often provided);

two places weighing not more than 32 kg each. business class.

the overall dimension limit is 158 cm (sum of three dimensions).

Accordingly, you can transport electronics and appliances, if it meets the standards for weight and fits into the dimensions.

Dimensions and weight of transported equipment are calculated together with package. For example, if the TV set fits snugly into the allowed dimensions, but exceeds them because of the wrapped film, cardboard or case, it cannot be transported under the general rules.

What shavers you can take with you

It is worth noting that you can take absolutely any type of machine tools in your luggage. They are safely packed and pose no danger to life and health. The same applies to other sharp objects.

Be prepared for the fact that the electrical accessories can be carefully checked at registration. This is because there may be forbidden things hidden inside them. Smugglers often use this way, so do not be surprised by the special attention of airport staff.

What items are prohibited?

Whether razors can be carried in your hand baggage depends on the type and the rules of the individual airlines. But sharp metal razors should be left in the luggage, because they won’t be let in the cabin, as they are dangerous goods.

These machines may not be taken on board

Shaving and hygiene products

We found out how to bring a razor in hand luggage, but usually they come with gels and lotions necessary for shaving. Unfortunately they cannot be carried in the cabin, as they are in vials and are equivalent to liquids. Firstly the vials exceed the 100 ml limit and secondly the bottle of foam is under pressure, which can be dangerous on flights.

It’s always allowed to take onboard accessories in tubes. they won’t count as liquids. You can also buy everything you need at your local store when you arrive.

It is also forbidden to carry bulky bottles with less than 100ml of liquid left over. Only shavers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml are permitted in the cabin. You have the right to purchase special travel kits. all items in them are approved for carriage on an airplane. You can also take small bottles of toiletries from the hotel where you are staying.

Choose legal razors

Can you carry your razor on an airplane?

According to airline baggage regulations, you may not take any life-threatening items on the plane. They will be confiscated and cannot be returned. Some airlines have a prohibition on taking any razors in the cabin. Others only allow you to carry electric or safety razors. Before going on a flight, find out on the website of the airline if you can take a shaver as hand luggage on the plane.

Rules of carrying a razor in hand luggage

When planning a business trip or vacation, people often prefer to travel by plane, as this method of travel can save a lot of time. But there is a question of how to organize your luggage so that there are no problems at the airport inspection. Many people, especially men, wonder if you can take a razor on an airplane.

Makeup products that are not approved for travel in the cabin can be sent in the hold, as long as they are not prohibited from being carried in the hold.

  • You can carry any amount of powder, pressed eye shadow, powder, blusher or blusher on your baggage.
  • As for liquid cosmetics, there are restrictions. It is better to check the permissible volume with the airline.

Cosmetics need to be properly packaged for safe shipping

Aerosols, deodorants, various sprays in cans may be prohibited for carriage altogether or limited to small quantities. a maximum of 2 liters of the total volume and 0.5 liters of one container.

Scissors, nail files, tweezers, etc. may be carried in the hold.

All cosmetics submitted for luggage must be packed tightly, and preferably in resealable bags. This is necessary both to prevent damage to cosmetic items and to increase safety.

The weight of your baggage is usually limited to 20 or 30 kg (this depends on the airline). You will have to pay extra for exceeding this limit.

An iron and a curling iron in your luggage or hand luggage

Some passengers cannot travel without certain household items, such as hair dryers and curling irons. When planning an air flight, we recommend that you familiarize yourself in advance with the rules of transportation of this category of household appliances. This eliminates the possibility of mistakes, with their consequences.

When going on a trip using air transport, a person takes with him the things that he will need on the way. They have the status of hand luggage, what can be carried on board the plane, or luggage, what will be placed in the luggage compartment.

Hand luggage in 2022 must comply:

  • dimensions not exceeding 56x45x25 cm;
  • weighing 5 to 12 kg;
  • this type of luggage is inspected before boarding in the presence of the passenger;
  • In airplanes, hand luggage is placed on a shelf or under the seat;

Where there are emergency exits, you may not put your hand luggage under the seat.

In the luggage of an airplane you carry things that weigh the same:

How much luggage can you carry in economy class

Each extra kilogram is paid separately. Airlines set their luggage allowances independently, so it’s better to ask about them in advance. At present many airlines are changing to a system based on the number of pieces, and Aeroflot is one of them. In this version, the following rules apply to the carriage:

You can not put all things in one suitcase, they must be exactly two. It should be taken into account that the movers will work with luggage weighing up to a maximum of 32 kg. If you find an excess, you will have to move the extra items to another suitcase or bag.

In general, the luggage has standard sizes, t. е. It is a suitcase or bag. But there are cases when you have to transport oversized items, which include:

Standard baggage and carry-on baggage sizes

The airplane itself, its loading and unloading hatch should be adapted for carrying such cargo. You should ask the company in advance if it is possible to transport oversized cargo. There are also situations when you must carry fragile items such as cans, bowls, and so on. In this case, such luggage is marked with a special tag which informs about the nature of cargo. But airlines are not responsible for the safety of fragile items.

International rules and standards for transport

Baggage is an important part of the flight. A lot depends on how companies frame their freight policies. A number of recommendations and rules have been developed at the international level:

  • There are ICAO standards which recommend certain rules of carriage to all international organizations;
  • there are standards adopted by aviation organizations of particular countries; adopts its own rules, which are mandatory for those who use the services of a particular airline.

These rules apply to both those who carry things in the cabin and those who carry them in their luggage.

How to avoid trouble

when examining baggage it is not desirable to have prohibited items in it, as this may be a reason for confiscation or even removal of the passenger from the flight. It is important to remember the elementary rules to prevent this from happening:

  • you must have a prescription for drugs, especially if they contain narcotic substances;
  • it is better to put all liquids, including pajamas, in your luggage;
  • you can not open the package before leaving the plane;
  • the rules of different airlines have some peculiarities related to items you want to take with you. you should study them carefully.

Why You SHOULDN’T Take The Trimmer Guard OFF (But We Do!)

There are few rules and they are quite simple and easy to follow.

What to do if your baggage has been confiscated

Items taken away that have no value are disposed of and will not be returned to the owner. But if items that may not be taken on the plane are dear to the owner, there are several ways to keep them

  • If items are found at the check-in stage, you should give them to the escort or send them by mail;
  • If what is found is not intended to be carried in carry-on luggage, you may check it in your luggage;

If the prohibited items are drugs, weapons or ammunition, such items will not only be confiscated but the passenger will be removed from the flight and sent to custody.

When you can carry prohibited items

There are situations when items are prohibited for carriage, but there is an urgent need. For transporting lithium-ion batteries larger than 160 Wh, it is necessary to ask the carrier for permission at check-in. If a wheelchair with a battery capacity of up to 300Wh is being transported, the following must be done:

  • permission must be obtained from the carrier in advance;
  • inform the crew that the battery is located at a certain place on the plane;
  • If the battery is non-removable, it must be carefully insulated, but if it is removable, you can take it with you in the cabin, but it must be well packed.

Instructions for transporting lithium-ion batteries and devices containing them on board

the wheelchair itself is checked-in for the flight, and only one battery may be transported. Weapons are also forbidden to be carried. But there are options when you can carry collectors’ or hunters’ items and ammunition for them with a special permit. To do so, it is necessary that

  • At the stage of purchasing a ticket, you must declare your desire to carry such an item;
  • two permits must be issued: for removal and for storage;
  • The weapon must be in a special case, the ammunition in a package.

If hunting weapons are transported, you must arrive at the check-in two hours in advance. At the registration the weapons are handed over, and they are received when they arrive at their destination. The weight of what you are carrying may not exceed 5 kilograms.

Despite the fact that there are options to carry a special permit for weapons, but there are exceptions, when the forbidden items for transportation can not be brought on an aircraft, even with a special permit. Such things include ammunition for a gas pistol.
